The Harbor Point Golf Club has begun the first major renovation of the course since the 1960's. We are rebuilding our cart barn further away from Lake Shore Drive with parking available, adding two new holes and reconfiguring another hole. We are also installing a state of the art irrigation system with 800 new heads. This will provide for better turf condition, safer parking and a more interesting game.
The irrigation installers expect to be finished with all in ground work by 10/24, will be fixing sod and other miscellaneous tasks until 10/30. They will return in the spring of 2009 to fire the entire system.
The golf renovation tasks completed include; the new holes #6 and #17, #18 fairway and green, sodding on new #1, bunkers for #1 and #18 tees, the practice tee and the practice green.
Construction on the new cart barn and the new parking lot began on October 20.
The Harbor Point Stockholders, golf club members, management and staff are very excited to begin these renovations to the HP Golf Club. Please see as follows work on the course as it progresses.
